Dallas Market Center and Los Angeles-based Fashion Business, Inc. will offer a one-day workshop for students and apparel entrepreneurs on August 15, 2009. Those interested in retail business and operations can work side-by-side with industry professionals, Frances Harder and Dana Fried, as they explain the complex process of starting and operating an apparel company or retail store.
Frances Harder, Founder and Executive Director of Fashion Business, Inc. and Dana Fried, CEO of Delphic Consulting Group, will team up to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to create a successful business. Harder and Fried will cover topics including: finding the right manufacturer, branding and marketing, legal issues and licenses, and much more.
Harder is the author of the Fashion for Profit textbook which is used in design schools around the world. From 2002-2006 Harder was voted one of California’s most influential people by California Apparel News. Fried was the COO of luxury footwear line Taryn Rose, managing their wholesale and retail growth from $8 million to $25 million in only two years. He is now the CEO of Delphic Consulting, which specializes in apparel, footwear, manufacturing and service organizations.
